Being water based, QuietCar needs to dry by evaporation during the cure cycle. QuietCar that has been thinned excessively will take longer to dry. Water will evaporate more readily when the following conditions exist: Elevated temperature, increased air circulation, lowered relative humidity. These conditions along with layer thickness contribute to drying time.
The STC rating of acoustic doors depends on two main things – the components used (doors and gasketing) and their installation. Though Serious Materials does not perform installations, we are still able to guarantee that our doors meet the advertised STC ratings, when properly installed, using the door construction, hardware, and the seals included with the product.
QuietPad floor underlayment is ideal for high-rise concrete construction. Hardwood or tile finishes can be placed directly on top of QuietPad (which rests on top of the concrete), without need for other supporting materials.
QuietPutty has been specifically designed to maintain the performance of acoustically rated walls. QuietPutty is designed to acoustically seal fire rated electrical, phone and plumbing outlet boxes. No special skills or tools are required. To ensure adequate adhesion, all surfaces shall be clean and free of dust, grease, oil, loose materials, rust or other substances. QuietPutty is non-toxic, chemically inert, and contains no hazardous materials.
Installation instructions for QuietRock RF, QuietWood RF and QuietSeam RF in construction of high security environments such as Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and government offices for both radio frequency (RF) and acoustic frequency (AF) transmission mitigation.
To maintain the specified Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings of acoustically rated wall and floor/ceiling assemblies by sealing perimeter joints, openings and other penetrations (i.e. electrical outlets and switch boxes).
Surfaces must be consistently flat and firmly fixed. Clean off dust, oil, grease and all loose contaminating materials. Ensure surfaces are dry before tiling, with no residue or permanent damp. For instructions on preparation of specific surfaces, refer to packaging.
QuietWood QR-631 is an internally damped engineered wood product which provides significantly enhanced sound isolation and designed to replace standard subfloor material, including use with wood and metal framing members.
