1. How is QuietRock ES Mold Resistant different than standard QuietRock ES? QuietRock ES Mold Resistant offers high acoustic performance like QuietRock ES, except that its paper, core and edge tape are treated for added mold resistance. This product gives the consumer the power to choose which features they are paying for, to meet the needs of their specific applications. To distinguish the two members of the EZ-SNAP platform, QuietRock ES Mold Resistant has a light green face-paper. 2. What does QuietRock ES Mold Resistant look like?QuietRock ES Mold Resistant has light green face paper and brown edge tape. Do not remove this edge tape during installation. 3. How mold resistant is QuietRock ES Mold Resistant?QuietRock ES Mold Resistant is mold resistant per ASTM D3273. It achieved a perfect 10 out of 10 in 3rd party laboratory testing. It is noted, however, that ES Mold Resistant is NOT mold proof. All paper faced gypsum products are susceptible to mold growth given the proper circumstances. It is recommended that the product is kept in a clean, dry location during throughout storage and installation. 4. Is QuietRock ES Mold Resistant UL rated?Yes, all of the UL assemblies that QuietRock ES is listed under also apply to QuietRock ES Mold Resistant. Visit the UL website for full list of assemblies. 5. Does QuietRock ES Mold Resistant have the same great labor savings as standard QuietRock ES?Yes, QuietRock ES Mold Resistant utilizes EZ-SNAP technology to save time and labor in mold-sensitive applications, such as schools, medical facilities, hospitality buildings, government projects and basements. 6. What STC ratings does QuietRock ES Mold Resistant achieve?QuietRock ES Mold Resistant achieves the same STC ratings as standard QuietRock ES on each of the different wall assemblies. How is QuietRock ES Mold Resistant Installed?QuietRock ES Mold Resistant is installed just like standard QuietRock ES or regular gypsum board. Does QuietRock ES Mold Resistant have tapered edges?Yes, QuietRock ES Mold Resistant has tapered edges on the face, but not on the back which allows for a nice even finish. 9. Can QuietRock ES Mold Resistant be used as exterior sheathing?No. QuietRock ES Mold Resistant should not be used on exterior applications. 10. Does QuietRock ES Mold Resistant contain any VOCs?QuietRock ES Mold Resistant contains minimal amounts of VOCs and remains in accordance with all health codes.
